Survey Information

Survey Name:

Live Register Age by Duration Analysis

Business Area:

Labour Market, Labour Market and Vital Statistics.

Survey Purpose:

To provide a half-yearly analysis of those on the Live Register in terms of age of registrant and duration of registration.

Legislative Basis:

Not applicable

Periodicity:

Half-yearly

Target Population:

All persons making claims for Jobseekers Benefit and Jobseekers Allowance or for various other statutory entitlements (ie Credits) at local offices.

Sampling Frame:

Not applicable

Survey Size:

The number of persons (roughly bewteen 130,000 and 160,000 on recent counts) making claims for various social welfare entitlements.

Principal Variables Collected:

Sex, age, duration of registration, Jobseekers Benefit, Jobseekers Allowance, Other Registrants.

Principal External Users:

Government, Business, Economists, Policy makers, Eurostat, National media - journalists, National Accounts etc.
