Survey Information

Survey Name:

Monthly Industrial Inquiry

Business Area:

Industry - Industry and Building Division.

Survey Purpose:

This survey provides short term indicators of current trends in volume of production, turnover and new orders.

Legislative Basis:

Required under the Short Term Statistics Regulation 1165/98 - amended by Regulation 1158/2005.

Periodicity:

Monthly

Target Population:

Local units with at least 3 employees in NACE Rev. 2: NACE 05 - 35

Sampling Frame:

The sampling frame is from the Monthly Industrial Register which is a subset of the Central Business Register.

Survey Size:

Approximately 1,600 local units

Principal Variables Collected:

Production (quantity and value of goods produced), Turnover and New Orders.

Principal External Users:

Eurostat, IMF, Government, Central Bank, economic analysts.
