    Collection of information on research and development activities.

    Legislative Basis:


    The BERD is carried out under Commission Regulation (EC) No 753/2004 implementing Decision No 1608/2003/EC.

    Biennial

    Target Population:


    All NACE sectors.

    Sampling Frame:


    Business Register

    Survey Size:


    All enterprises believed to be engaged in Research and Development Activities

    Principal Variables Collected:


    R&D expenditure, R&D funding, R&D personnel, type of R&D activity

    Principal External Users:


    Eurostat, Forfás, Department of Enterprise, Trade and Employment
