What is covered by the Resident Holdings of Foreign Portfolio Securities?

The Resident Holdings of Foreign Portfolio Securities covers a series of stock statistics on a country's investments in foreign portfolio securities as at 31 December each year. These figures give Ireland's investments in foreign equity and long-term (i.e. bonds and notes) and short-term (i.e. money market instruments) debt securities. These data are classified primarily by the country of the issuer of the financial security from which regional or zonal summaries are derived. The data shown are also reflected in the aggregate portfolio investment data on the assets side presented in the IIP statement.
