How to open Excel (.xls) files

If you do not have Microsoft Excel, you can download the Excel File Reader from Microsoft for free. Excel File Reader allows you to view, print and copy tables downloaded in Excel format. You may use this to export these files to another spreadsheet application.

 

How to download an Excel file

Internet Explorer

  • To download the file(s) right click on the link and choose the Save Target As option.

Other Browser

  • Right click on the link and use your browser equivalent of Save As option for downloading the file(s)

 

Help downloading Excel Files for Netscape

If you are a Netscape user and are having problems downloading Excel Files from our site, the following guidelines should allow you to successfully access the files.

There are two possible solutions outlined below:

  • Right Click on the file that you want to download.
  • A list of options will appear.
  • Choose Save As and save the file to a location on your computer.
  • You should now be able to open that file from the location where you saved it

or you can do the following:

  • Double click on the file you want, to open it in the browser window.
  • The file will open in Netscape but will appear unreadable.
  • From the Browser choose File > Save as, and save it to a location on your computer.
  • You should now be able to open that file format he location where you saved it to.
