I look after my children but I also work part-time in a launderette while they are at school. When answering question 26, should I tick 'working for payment or profit' or 'looking after home/family'?

When answering Q26 you should assess which category best represents your present principal status.

I am not working at the moment as I am on maternity leave. What category should I tick for present principal status?

You should tick 'working for payment or profit' as your present principal status.

You should tick 'looking after home/family' as your principal status.

 

I am adopted and do not know my mother's place of residence at the time of my birth. How should I answer question 5?

Write 'unknown' in the box provided.

 

What about my daughter who is a student who lives away from home during term time?

If she is at home on Census Night she should be enumerated there. If she is elsewhere in the State on Census Night she should be counted wherever she spends that night. In this case she should also be listed as an absent person (on page 22/23) at her home address.
