The role of the Division is to provide relevant, timely and high quality statistical information on the structure and performance of the service sectors of the economy.

The Division is organised into the following Sections:

 

Transport

This Section surveys overseas travellers at Irish air and sea ports. It produces statistics on the number of overseas visits to Ireland, visits abroad by Irish residents and associated details such as expenditure, reason for journey and length of stay. It also surveys Irish households on domestic and international travel with at least one overnight.

 

Tourism and Travel


Statistics measuting domestic and overseas travel are available. Data on number of visits and associated details such as destination, expenditure, reason for journey and length of stay are compiled.

 

Retail Sales

Trading Day and Seasonally adjusted Retail Sales value and volume indices are published monthly.

 

Annual Services

Structural business inquiries are compiled and published for the traded services sectors on an annual basis. This accounting type data includes regional profiles and information on legal form of ownership, country of ownership and ICT usage.
