Staffing and Recruitment

At present the CSO has an approved core staffing of around 700. The majority of these are permanent staff. Other temporary field staff are also engaged on a part-time basis in surveying prices for the compilation of the Consumer Price Index (CPI). Additional staff are temporarily assigned to the Office to undertake periodic inquiries (e.g. Census of Population, Household Budget Survey).  These office staff are complemented by a temporary full-time field force.
