Publication Policy and the Web

The CSO's policy for the dissemination of statistics is to give equal prominence to hard copy and the web publications. There are, however, some exceptions that are outlined below:

CSO publications are issued on hard copy and the web at the same time where reasonably possible.

There are some cases where the web will be given prominence as follows:

• Long detailed tables which are used by only a small number of customers may not appear in hard copy publications but will be published on the web
• If there is to be a significant printing delay or where there is an urgent need to publish immediately, a publication will be put on the web as soon as it has been prepared; in all such cases, this will either be preceded by a release containing the main results or be accompanied by a press releases when put on the web.

Certain detailed publications, especially External Trade, will continue to be issued in hard copy only pending further technical developments.

Relevant time series in the CSO Data Dissemination Service will be updated as close to release time as possible.
