This Directorate is responsible for providing Statistical and IT support services to the Office. The Directorate also has responsibility for e-Government.

The Directorate is organised into the following areas:

 

e-Government and Business Coordination

 

e-Government

This section is responsible for developing and delivering the CSO's e-Government strategy.

 

Database Dissemination Unit

The Data Dissemination Unit is responsible for the implementation of the Office's Data Management Strategy. It will manage, from a corporate perspective, the Office's data holdings.

 

Methodology and Quality Assurance

 

Statistical Methods and Development (SMD)

SMD undertakes a variety of statistical, methodological, development, research and analysis projects.

 

Quality Assurance/Audit

This section is responsible for the development and promotion of Quality Standards and Guidelines throughout the CSO. The section is also responsible for measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of the various systems and controls in place in the CSO. The section also provides the secretariat to the CSO Audit Committee.

 

Business Statistics Integration

This Divisions's role is to assist in and to encourage the development of integrated systems of business statistics based on data available from a wide range of statistical and administrative sources.

Key objectives include the preparation of a range of business reports and the full exploitation of administrative data held by Government and other Public Agencies with whom is will actively collaborate.

 

Data Linkage and Integration

 

The role of DLI Division is to produce statistical results through linking data sources, including data sources held by other public authorities. The Division is also responsible for the StatCentral web portal to official statistics.
